So whether you are thinking about a large elevated split-level deck for entertaining or a small intimate space for relaxing you will find timber decking provides the ideal, cost-effective and practical solution.
Our service
With nearly thirty years in the carpentry business and over five years experience of erecting decking, you can be sure of a reliable and timely service. We use quality tanalised timber throughout, cement all posts in, put a membrane over any areas of soil to ensure no plants or grass poke through, seal all the edges in with decking and screw all our boards down, to ensure lasting use.
Maintenance
It is advisable to wait a few months to allow any excess preservative to run off and the decking to fully air before applying a coat of varnish, with a stain, if you wish. When doing this, a good tip is to put a small quantity of fine sand in the varnish, to enhance grip in wet conditions.
From start to finish
Installing a deck starts off with drawing up a customised design following a full consultation with you, taking into consideration the layout of the site, and your needs and desires. Upon payment of a deposit (usually around 40 - 50% of the total cost), a suitable time is arranged to do the installation. For most installations, it generally takes two days to complete a deck, beginning with the laying of the membrane, then the subframe and deck, finishing off with the railing and any other decorative features discussed. Upon your satsfaction with the work, the remaining balance is paid, leaving you to enjoy your new outdoor room.
